16.15-17.15 Four Parallel Workshops
Speakers include:
Måns Hultman, Former CEO and chairman of QlikTech; Thomas Ahrens, founder and CEO of Ahrens Rapid Growth; Anna Omstedt Lindgren, managing director of MedUniverse; and Torbjörn Kronander, Founder and CEO of Sectra Imtec

2) Lessons Learned: What investors and entrepreneurs should know about each other
One of the big challenges for entrepreneurs when building a startup is attracting investors and finding capital. But while the investors are busy judging the startup, what are the important questions the entrepreneur needs to ask the wooing investor? How do you choose the right person or firm to bring on board? And from the opposite end, what do investors need to know about the entrepreneur before making the decision to invest in an early stage business venture?
This workshop will bring you insights on early stage investment from two perspectives. You will take part of lessons learned from entrepreneurs who have brought in investors, both VC firms and business angles. And, you will learn from VC firms about the evaluation and management of early stage investments. You will also gain insights from Silicon Valley and how VCs and entrepreneurs work together on the US West Coast.
– What factors make a successful relationship between founders/entrepreneurs and investors? – What should they know and understand about each other before signing the investment agreement? A great exit makes everyone happy, but the question here is, – What should investors/entrepreneurs do/not do proactively in order not to fail on the way?
Speakers include:
Staffan Helgesson, general partner at Creandum; Victor Jacobsson, co-founder and CBDO at Klarna AB; Nicolai Wadström, CEO and founder of BootstrapsLabs; and Laurel Bowden, partner at Greylock Partners.
3) Go Global: Should we skip the Western world?
Traditionally, most companies adhere to a careful globalization strategy where markets in the vicinity are first addressed for the initial steps to export. Similarly, market opportunities in the Western world comes first, rather than opportunities in the new fast-growing areas where competition can be lower, demand is growing faster and where your chances for success may be better.
A number of successful entrepreneurs/investors will tell us more about the markets in South America, Africa, The Middle East and India. Get onboard our one-hour journey through these markets, ask the relevant questions and use this exciting support for a successful start of your internationalization process.
The workshop will your guide to understand how to prepare when starting to export products and/or setting up international operations in these regions. With four stations, the audience will be able to fly from one region to the next and identify the special tricks required to becoming successful and the challenges ahead. From experienced entrepreneurs and investors, you can find out about the opportunities and select between these regions. We expect to have an interesting workshop that will result in a number of conclusions drawn from the tour during this hour. The flight is ready, your boarding cards are waiting – see you at the gate!
Speakers include:
Anil Raj, CEO of OMC; Jawad Saadi, managing partner at NordMENA
Consulting; and Karl Söderberg, global sales director at Speeron AB
4) Go Global: Making Europe your next home market
With the long Swedish tradition of global trade exchange and the growing importance of the overseas emerging markets, it is easy to forget that we have a huge home market – Europe! Expanding in Europe could be much more vigorously pursued both in its own right and as a stepping stone towards the rest of the world. But as we all know this is easier said than done, and cultural as well as other local differences make establishing a business in other EU countries almost as specific as any other foreign venture.
This workshop will discuss the specific opportunities and challenges encountered when expanding a business into Europe. We will hear a couple of stories describing both highlights and pitfalls from a business/legal perspective as well as from a cultural experience viewpoint. What can be the advantages with an initial European roll-out strategy? How can you use online channels to speed up you international expansion? How do you build your business by obtaining smart partnerships?
